Product recalls

Product safety recall: Tara Brass & Glass Diamond Shaped Hanging Tealight Holder (product code 09.01.0172)

We have voluntarily recalled the Tara Brass & Glass Diamond Shaped Hanging Tealight Holder (product code 09.01.0172) because solder joints may weaken with heat during use, causing the product to break and fall.

All owners of these products are asked to return them to a Trade Aid shop for a full refund (no receipt required). Alternatively you can contact Trade Aid directly.

Four welds at the top of the unit can fade and let go after several hours’ burning. If all four welds fail the product will fall from its hanging position.  This presents fire and injury risk.

Please see full details of this product recall below.

We would also like to hear from you if you’ve disposed of the product yourself, so that we can account for each item sold.  Additionally we’d like to hear from you if you purchased and gave one of these products as a gift.

Please drop us a line by email craft@tradeaid.org.nz, or free-phone 0508 872 332. Thank you for your attention and assistance.

Product safety recall: EMA Painted Flute, Nesting Dolls and Nesting Doll Bookends

On January 27th, 2017 we issued a voluntary recall notice for a small number of products, including a model of flute, because lead was detected in the paint. While we are grateful to have received a number of returns, we are not satisfied that enough have been returned and are keen to account for a greater proportion of those sold.

We are issuing this second notice in the hope that some customers who may have missed the first announcement may be made aware of the situation.

Please see full details of this product recall below.

We would like to hear from you if you’ve seen the notice but have disposed of the product yourself rather than through the returns and refund process as outlined in the first recall.

Additionally we’d like to hear from you if you saw the notice, had purchased one of these products as a gift and have passed on the recall notice to the recipient.

Please drop us a line by email craft@tradeaid.org.nz, or free-phone 0508 872 332.

Thank you for your attention and assistance in dealing with this unfortunate situation.
