Guaya’b is an association of 600 coffee and honey producers in the Sierra de los Cuchumatanes region in north-western Guatemala. These Maya-Poptí indigenous farmers are known for their ancestral agricultural practices that promote a healthy ecosystem. Guaya’b is a word from the indigenous Maya-Popti language that means “mutual support” and the producers use their collective power to strengthen their livelihoods and gain maximum value for their quality products.
