For over 16 years, we’ve worked alongside Anei.
Here are a few words from Aurora:
“I want to address Trade Aid with a message from the heart.
My name is Aurora Izquierdo, founder of ANEI, an association of Indigenous and farming families from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and the SerranĂa del Perijá.
For us, it has been truly valuable to find in you an ally who shares such profound human principles as solidarity, service, and transparency. From our very first meeting, I felt that this relationship went beyond the commercial, because we were able to share our beliefs and cultural rituals, which united us as if we were one family.
Coffee has been our bridge, the pretext to reaffirm our culture, our spirituality, and our responsibility toward the land, the forests, and the water. That is why I say that organic and fair-trade certifications are not just labels, but rather the way we live: being fair, equitable, and committed to the well-being of the community.
For more than 16 years, we have grown together through trust and honesty. Our communities have achieved significant progress: women are leading, young people are becoming trained cuppers and analysts, and families are building dignified lives in harmony with nature.
The most important part of all this is the transformation of the human being: being able to live with dignified incomes, eat well, and do so in harmony with nature. That is our true impact – sowing peace and weaving a communal and sustainable future.
That is why I deeply thank Trade Aid for believing in us and walking by our side.
I am certain that we will continue this journey together for many more years, always with the same purpose: to positively impact our communities and Mother Earth”
