Mid-winter Christmas is a chance to rug up and celebrate your community and whānau. What better way to do that than the sharing of kai? Let’s enjoy getting around the table with the people you love to feast, break bread and celebrate our kai – Garden to Table style.
We’ve partnered with Garden to Table Trust this mid-winter to celebrate the stars in your world.
Gardening is revolutionary. It can change the stars. Growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing our kai together as a community empowers our tamariki with essential life skills and wellbeing for a healthy life.
Purchase a $3 Prokritee Stained Glass Star for your tree and help Garden to Table raise up our tamariki and sprout future stars in our community.
Your donation will go towards Garden to Table Trust schools’ programme. Garden to Table Trust empower tamariki to grow, harvest, prepare and share kai by supporting schools to run their programme throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. Tamariki build knowledge and skills to grow and cook fresh food, learn where their food comes from, practise everyday environmentalism, and establish the foundations for lifelong healthy habits that they can bring back home to their whānau and wider community.
Each Prokritee Stained Glass Star decoration has been made by talented artisans running their own enterprises in Bangladesh. The proceeds of your purchase will go to Garden to Table Trust. Purchase in-store at Trade Aid or online here through our website.
Children will enjoy accompanying you in-store these school holidays with an in-store colouring activity to help us decorate our tree, or else try out a free Garden to Table kawakawa biscuit recipe
We believe Christmas giving and generosity should be a year round affair, so let’s do some good this mid-winter and support a great cause. Let’s empower our tamariki to thrive and have a positive impact on the planet, our community and on our health and wellbeing.
Garden to Table Trust
Garden to Table Trust is a charitable trust that empowers tamariki to grow, harvest, prepare and share kai. They enable schools and kura throughout the motu to deliver, embed and sustain impactful and holistic food education that helps combat today’s pressing health, educational, social and environmental challenges.
Their schools empower thousands of kiwi tamariki with knowledge and skills that have a transformative and lifelong impact on their hauora — wellbeing — and on the world around them. Teaching essential life skills that radiate far beyond school gates. In 2021 22,000 tamariki took part in the programme with 800,000 meals enjoyed by kiwi kids in 213 schools across the country.
