These striped keyrings have been sewn from traditional Guatemalan foot loomed cotton and have a worry doll on the front. Worry dolls come from a Guatemalan legend, where if children tell one worry to each doll and place them under their pillow when they go to bed at night, the dolls will have taken their worries away by the morning. These worry dolls are handcrafted using scrap textiles from other products. Handmade by artisans in Guatemala working with UPAVIM, one of our fair trade partners.
Please note this is for one keyring, and as they are assorted colours it will be luck of the draw what colour you shall receive.
UPAVIM is a cooperative of women who are turning around the lives of their families and their communities. Establishing a successful business in the community, generating good quality education for children and role models for the next generation, the women of UPAVIM have used the production of handicrafts to overcome the pressures of living in migrant settlement villages in Guatemala City.Read more
