This purple stone box has been hand carved in Palewa soapstone and is decorated with a heart design inlay. Palewa is a common Indian soapstone which has been used for carving for centuries. The high talc content of soapstones such as this make it relatively soft and ideal for carving. Hand crafted by skilled artisans working with Tara Projects, one of our fair trade partners in India.
