This gorgeous hot pot stand is hand carved from Kisii soap stone, then painted with a light grey, you can use it coil side or flat side up. Kisii soapstone is mined by hand from quarries in Western Kenya. Carvers cut the large rocks into smaller pieces, then chisel a rough shape into the stone. Women then sandwash the stone pieces, paint and polish them. The stone carvers of Kisii are one of many craft groups working alongside Trade Aid’s partner, Undugu Fair Trade.
Natural stone, colours may vary.
