These stunning bookends are hand-carved from palewa stone. Palewa is a common Indian soapstone which has been used for carving for centuries. The high talc content of soapstone such as this make it relatively soft and ideal for carving. Hand-crafted by skilled artisans working with Tara Projects, one of our fair trade partners in India.
