This felt puppet lion is handmade in Nepal from New Zealand wool. Handcrafted by skilled artisans working with Association for Craft Producers (ACP), one of our fair trade partners in Nepal. ACP has been helping to revive felting, a traditional craft in Nepal. Felting is a simple process of bonding wool fibres together using motion and heat and water. ACP focuses on products that artisans can make in their own homes with little supervision after training is completed; these finger puppets are a great example of this. The felt artisans are women living on the outskirts of the Kathmandu valley.
