This stunning house candle holder is hand carved from Kisii soapstone. This could also be used as bookends, a door stop or just a beautiful decorative item. Kisii soapstone is mined by hand from one of six quarries in Western Kenya. Carvers cut the large rocks into smaller pieces, then chisel a rough shape into the stone. Women then sand wash the stone pieces and polish them. A clear wax is then applied to accentuate the stone’s natural lustre. The stone carvers of Kisii are one of the many craft groups working with Undugu Fair Trade, one of our partners in Kenya.
Instructions for use: Place holder on a flat heat resistant surface. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from draughts, open windows, high movement areas & out of reach of children & pets. Keep away from flammable objects. Do not move holder or candle while lit. This unit may become hot after use so take care when handling.
Natural stone colours may vary.
