This funky giraffe candle holder is hand carved from Kisii soapstone then hand painted in black and white. Kisii soapstone is mined by hand from one of six quarries in Western Kenya. Carvers cut the large rocks into smaller pieces, then chisel a rough shape into the stone. Women then sandwash the stone pieces, polish and paint them. A clear wax is then applied to accentuate the stone’s natural lustre. The stone carvers of Kisii are one of the many craft groups working with Undugu Fair Trade, one of our partners in Kenya.
Instructions for use: Place holder on a flat heat resistant surface. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from draughts, open windows, high movement areas & out of reach of children & pets. Keep away from flammable objects. Do not move holder or candle while lit. This unit may become hot after use so take care when handling.
