This is a folk flute which has three fingerholes and plays a simple pentatonic Indian scale, and can be overblown to reach a higher octave. Named the Bansuri in Northern India (including Bangladesh) and Venu in South India; its transverse-blown equivalent in Indian classical music is also called the Bansuri. Handcrafted by skilled artisans working with Dhaka Handicrafts, one of our fair trade partners in Bangladesh.
