This beautiful charcoal cotton shoulder bag is intricately hand embroidered and has lovely Abhala mirror work, it has an adjustable shoulder strap, a magnetic dome closure, an exterior zip up pocket and two compartments on the inside. The embroidery technique is over a thousand years old and is being kept alive by a group of Catholic nuns who started up a sewing and embroidery centre. Hand made by skilled artisans working with St Mary’s Mahila Shikshan Kendra a fair trade organisation in India.

St Mary’s teaches rural women who have migrated to the city of Ahmedabad, in western India, to use their traditional Kathiawadi style of embroidery and mirror work to generate essential income.
