This beautiful butterfly garland is made from handmade paper and is perfect for any special occasion. Our fair trade partner Prokritee in Bangladesh work with groups of woman located near Modhupur; a beautiful forested area abounding with pineapple and banana groves. The women artisans make unique paper and paper products out of pineapple leaves, as well as cotton, jute and other fibres.
Prokritee
Prokritee works with more than 1000 women producers in rural villages who run their own producer organisations aimed at creating self-reliance. Savings’ programmes are set up at each enterprise and training is provided in adult literacy, leadership development and group management.
