This incense holder has been hand carved from Palewa soapstone and decorated with a Hamsa hand. Palewa is a common Indian soapstone which has been used for carving for centuries. The high talc content of soapstones such as this make it relatively soft and ideal for carving. Hand crafted by skilled artisans working with Tara Projects, one of our fair trade partners in India.
Instructions for use: Place holder on a flat heat resistant surface when burning incense. Never leave burning incense unattended. Burn incense in a ventilated area, away from flammable objects, draughts or open windows. Do not move holder while incense is burning. Ensure incense cone or stick is totally extinguished before discarding.
Tara Projects addresses issues of poverty and powerlessness for grassroots artisans. They provide 1000 artisans with fair trade production and marketing support; and through the provision of schools over 1,000 children and ex-child labourers are now receiving an education.Read more
