This 100% cotton tablecloth depicting flowers and birds was hand-embroidered by artisans working with St. Mary’s. Generations of women have, since ancient times, passed on the meaning and symbolism of daily life and rituals to their daughters in the form of the stunning embroidered handcrafts and clothing from the Gujarat region of Western India. In this region of contrasts, where desert meets monsoon, vibrant earthy colours are juxtaposed with the subtle desert palette and characterise the handcrafted products, rich in naturalistic motifs.
