Our tea packaging has been completely refreshed. We’ve eliminated the plastic outer wrap from every box and added a new variety: Organic Loose Leaf Green Tea.
Organic Loose Leaf Green Tea is a light fragrant tea with a smooth and refreshing flavour, and sits alongside our familiar favourites, English Breakfast, Earl Grey and Masala Chai.
Our new tea boxes have a perforated closure so there’s no need for plastic outer wrap. Both the box and inner bag are recyclable (the inner with other soft plastics) and as always our teabags have no strings or staples.
All our tea is certified organic and guaranteed fair trade. With our refreshed range, all varieties are available in 50’s and we’re introducing a new 100 tea bag box size for English Breakfast. Those who prefer not to use teabags, will enjoy our new Organic Loose Leaf Green Tea and Organic Loose Leaf Black Tea.
These are small steps towards offering a completely sustainable range of organic tea, including tea bags made entirely from Plant Based material. We are excited to share that we will have new plant based tea bags in the new year. Our Plant Based tea bags will contain no polypropylene and are 100% compostable in commercial composting systems and home worm farms.
Trade Aid tea is organically grown by farmers who are also the land owners, and who are empowered to improve their lives and communities through fair trade. We think that’s the makings of a really good cup of tea.
In 2014 we partnered with Tea Promoters India (TPI), because we loved their sustainable tea-growing model. TPI are creating a revolution in the tea industry through collaborative models of working, where farms are managed and run by the small-scale farmers who are invested in their land. Their collective decision-making is creating real change for both their economic and social wellbeing.
TPI is a Darjeeling-based family operation. They have been a pioneer in bringing environmental and social reform to the tea industry. They support small tea farmers by helping them gain access to international markets and a fair price for their tea, and they consistently think outside the box in an effort to create non-plantation alternatives in the production of tea.
Look out for the beautiful new range of Trade Aid organic fair trade tea online and in all Trade Aid stores.
