Winter solstice is considered a turning point for many cultures around the world. Short days and long nights mean candles glow longer, allowing for peaceful reflection on the year that has been, and the year that lies ahead.
Global Aromas, Trade Aid’s new range of handmade candles will enhance your home with a sense of soul this winter. Each candle is infused with essential oils and inspired by evocative aromas from around the globe, like Marrakech Rose, Provence French Lavender and Bengali Indian Spice.
The Global Aromas range has been hand-crafted with love and care by Silence, a group of hearing impaired artisans from Kolkata, India. As the Silence team beautifully puts it, they are “a self-help movement for those who can neither speak nor hear, except visually, and others who cannot go anywhere, except in their imagination, and yet who aspire towards self-sufficiency and acceptance as contributing members of their society.”
With hand-crafted candles, hand-painted ceramics from Vietnam, hand-stitched leather bags from India and cosy hand-woven textiles from Thailand, Trade Aid brings a sense of soul to your home this winter. Our treasure trove of pieces is infused with rich visual stories from around the globe. Each product also represents stories of hope and change, illustrating that buying fair grows communities and enables families to support themselves.
Trade Aid is proud to be a pioneer of New Zealand’s conscious consumer movement, with a beautiful range of homewares, toys and accessories exclusively handmade and made with love by artisans from around the world.
