This box is crafted from a combination of sheesham and mango wood.
Mango trees are harvested for their wood at the end of the 20 year fruit bearing cycle, so they are a sustainable source of wood. Mango is a semi-hardwood making it well suited for carving. Mango trees are widespread in the tropics and can grow 80 to 100 feet tall.
Strips of mango wood compliments the rich tone of the sheesham highlighting the different colours in the grain of the woods. Made by artisans working with Tara Projects in India.
