This dark grey, 100% cotton cushion cover has been screen printed in blue and grey, using a traditional geometric jamdani pattern, by artisans at Aarong in Bangladesh.

Jamdani is a traditional, patterned, hand loom cotton fabric which was historically referred to as muslin. The word jamdani is of Persian origin, from 'jam' meaning flower and 'dani' meaning a vase or a container. Jamdani patterns are mostly of geometric, plant and floral designs and are said to originate in a fusion of Persian and Mughal influences thousands of years ago. Expert jamdani weavers do not refer to a pattern, but instead work from memory.
