Round Red Bamboo Bowl
Product Code: 28.01.282
This beautiful red bamboo lacquerware bowl is a must for your table.
Creating lacquerware is time-consuming and labour-intensive work, and it can take up to 45 days to finish. First the artisans make the shapes out of bamboo which is soaked, hand coiled and left to dry. A coloured resin from the lacquer tree is used to coat this bamboo and it is mixed with finely ground rock, sawdust and soil. When the lacquer has dried it is polished using a sharpening stone. This process is repeated until the product has a minimum of seven layers of lacquer — depending on the desired finish.
