This incredibly soft teddy bear is hand spun and knitted in Peru from 100% organic alpaca wool with no added dyes.
This wool is environmentally friendly, and uses no chemicals, fertilizers, or pesticides in its production. “It is just pure natural materials - like it always has been, like no other producer can offer today”- Minka.
These bears are made by Peruvian artisans who work with MINKA, meaning ‘mutual cooperation’ in Quechua.
alpaca wool comes in a variety of natural colours from white to intense black, including numerous shades of brown and grey. Due to the high demand for white alpaca wool, coloured alpacas are slowly disappearing. Minka is working to protect the coloured alpacas by creating a market for their natural and organic wool products.
Due to the natural variation in colour of alpaca wool these bears vary in colour, so if you would like to choose your own bear, please visit your nearest Trade Aid shop.
