The Product Manager (Handcrafts) is responsible for the purchase, pricing and stock management of craft product from our overseas producers.

Your key tasks will be to:
• Purchase and set pricing for homeware and handcraft lines within predetermined guidelines
• Keep abreast of key trends and consumer buying patterns in relevant product categories
• Monitor and analyse sales data
• Manage stock levels within the wholesale area of our business
• Work closely with trading partners to build strong relationships and grow their sales

As this is a fixed term (parental leave) position, the appointed person will have
• Experience in a buying role, preferably with a focus on homeware/handcraft items.
• Previous experience in pricing and sales analysis
• The ability to identify market trends and future consumer buying patterns
• Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work unsupervised.
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Competent use of IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Some overseas travel may be required.

This is a fulltime position that requires the applicant to be friendly, motivated and reliable and exhibit a strong knowledge in retail sales, customer service and staff management as well as have a flair for merchandising. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to handle a varied workload while leading your team to continual improvements.

Trade Aid Importers is currently looking for volunteers to assist in the Unpacking area of the warehouse. Duties include the unpacking of our craft goods following receipt into the warehouse, quality control and checking, relabeling and repacking.

Minimum roster is one full day (approx 9am to 3pm) per week.

Each Trade Aid shop is owned by an independent Charitable Trust and governed by its trustees. These voluntary trustees bring a wide variety and skills to the governing team.

Volunteers interested in education can always become part of a team immediately. This work may include being part of a team who presents talks to community groups, runs activities during promotional periods or mans stall at markets etc. If you are interested in volunteering in education, fill in the volunteer application at the bottom of the page and your nearest shop will contact you.
