Didgeridoo
Traditional Javanese musical instrument made from bamboo. It sounds similar to its Australian counterpart, which is made from hollowed out wood.

Made from mahogany locally grown and purchased from the Forestry Department.

Popularised version of a traditional tool used to diagnose which part of the body is afflicted

Congklac
Traditional Javanese game

Angklung
Traditional musical instrument made from bamboo by a family group in west Java. The instruments are tuned by a blind man.

Beachmats
Made from a roadside grass called “medong” which is harvested 3 times a year. The best harvest is in the dry season and this is stored for use in making mats for export.

Bamboo birdcall
Bamboo musical instruments made by the Tajora people of Sulawesi.

From Irian Jaya – the western portion of Papua New Guinea. Instructions to go with the horoscope.

Batik shaker
Made on the same principal as the rainsticks from Chile, these bamboo instruments are decorated with batik designs made using wax and dyes.
