EIT - the Trade Aid Ethical Investment Trust

The purpose of the Trust is to provide funding to promote trade with third world enterprises that meet certain ethical criteria. Some examples of how funding might be used include:

  • Supporting our producer groups with advance payments - this allows certainty and planning;
  • Having seed funding available for store developments;
  • Undertaking education and advocacy work concerning fair trade.
  • Variable interest rates and term are available. As an alternative/fair trading organisation, our preference is for low or no interest long term ethical investments, but we can pay up to market variable rates to suit your needs.

Donations to the trust are tax deductible.

Deposits are accepted from contributors and lent to Trade Aid Importers Ltd and Trade Aid NZ Inc as the channel through which the objectives can be achieved. Trade Aid Ethical Investment Trust is a charitable trust incorporated under The Charitable Trusts Act, 1957.
